My crappy gas mileage, suggestions?
Ok today I filled up for the 2nd time after getting 31's. To my dissapointment I averaged 13.7 mpg??? WTF?! Before I got the tires I only got 16-17 mpg. The rpm hardly gets above 3k and it's mostly country road driving no offroading. It's an Edge so it sits higher creating more drag and larger tires decrease the gas mileage but come on it's a 2wd, 3.0L V6 with 4.10 gears, I expect at least 18 mpg. Any suggestions of what could be wrong to make me get this kind of gas mileage or suggestions on items to buy to make it better?

on my truck
flowmaster = worse gas milage
air intake = worse gas milage
bigger tires = worse gas milage
magnaflow and borla made my mpg better by 1-2, flowmaster was worse by 1-2.
best gas milage i got was with a stock intake, 265/75/16 revos, magnaflow exhaust, bamachips tuner on 93 octane performance setting. that was 20.2 with an average of two tanks and it wasnt even warm out.

Dang, that is pretty bad for gas mileage man! 13-14 is about what I should have but its not! I have 7" of lift with 35s(10" of lift total) and a Supercharger and 4.88 gears and getting 16-17 MPG(Both City and Highway)...There is something wrong with what you are getting! I drive it pretty good(meaning getting up and going) and still get 16-17 everytime I fill up and I always have to use 93 b/c of the supercharger! I would change out fluids, spark plugs, etc..

Like the others ave said before in regurds to your odometer/tripometer moving form the 28s to the 32s (like i did) you have to add 1 mile for every 10 you go. So insted of you getting 220 miles on a tank, you are actually getting 240. But yes you will loose some MPG vs stock, cuz well quite frankly the 3.0 sucks *****

I do realize that the speedo is off. It's off by 6.1% so I accounted for that. But I'm getting around 170 miles to 3/4 tank according to the gauge, but I don't use the gas gauge to calculate gas mileage. I just go by how much the truck takes to fill all the way up. So I think I'll get some fuel injector cleaner and next time get some better oil or something I dunno.

bah.. right now im averaging 12.5.. truck runs in perfect running condition, and everything was replaced (plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil, air filter cleaned, etcc).. im ignoring it (except for stopping for gas every other day). i was gonna get a thermostat for the hell of it and get mine replaced.. but everytime i go to get it, noone has it in stock.
