i don't know for sure for your truck, but i know i used a random gm alternator i found in a friend's garage a few years back on my tempest, it was NOT a direct replacement, so we took the pulley off, and front part of the casing and replaced that with my old one (it has all the mounting points on it) thus making the new one fit perfectly

the 130amp expo alternator will work for your 4.0, in fact it will work for my 3.0 also cuz I will be replacing mine soon. AutoZone has new ones for $175 after $10 core. They probably have refurbished ones too.

As long as the mounting points are the same, all you would potentially have to do is take the pulley off of your alternator and put it on the expo one

no no, keep the expo pulley cuz it is the same size as the OD pulleys from UnderDog....it makes the alternator like 8% more efficient or something like that

I am going to the junkyard is there a certain year explorer I should look to pull from for my 08 ranger sport. Also can somebody confirm about the pulley being the same size as the OverDrive pulley Underdog sells.
