Too many shady people on Craigslist these days. Especially around here.

Besides, I want to get a brand new one if I do get one. That way I'm putting all the miles on it.

and If i remember correctly it was a extremely cheap brand also to boot. Not something I would carry to defend myself and trust.

even though i'm a minor, i work outside of the city limits on an exotic game ranch, so when i'm out there i usually keep a .357 S&W snub nose... it helps me keep the hawgs under control. =) besides that, my ithaca model 37 stays in the back seat

In Texas any gun in the vehicle has to be concealed, it can be loaded, but it has to be out of sight.. under a blanket, in the glove box, under the seat, in a case etc..

It comes down to you makeing the decison to grab your gun or not. At least we have that option, you have no other choice but to obey every command they make.
obey them, then shoot once they run away, or is that no longer self defense?

Let's just hope you never have to use the pistols on anybody.
yet another reason not to move there I can have a pistol in my truck as long as someone with me is 21.

dam.. my mosin nagant 7.62X54R isnt an option.. Hmmm.. although i think that if i shot a human with it, it probably would kill them unless i shot them in a vital organ.. it would cleanly and effortlessly go through and through.. i shot threw the enigne block of an 89 buick (not sure what engine), and the entry hole was dam near the same size asx the exit.. The FMJ 7.62X54 was used as an anti-tank rifle in WW2. :) i think i would just wait for him to drive off and shot the vehicle..

I want to keep one of these in my truck since I don't think I could have a handgun yet.

But I'd probably shoot someone going slow in front of me within the first hour of owning it.

i wish i could carry a firearm in my truck. we have to have it locked up in a box. they somehow feel that this kind of law prevents drive by shootings or something.

Rarely carry my 1911.

But down here, as long as it is "securely enclosed"

aka locked or unlocked glove box, a zippered bag, it's fine.

I stash my Springfield XD 9mm between my seat and my center console when I'm in the truck. It's easily accessible and I can quickly put it in the console if need be. I need to come up with a better holster though... Generally I keep it in my waistband in the small of my back for the time being.

Check out the thing called SmartCarry Kyle, I know a few people who have it and like it. Search for passive101 on youtube, he's got all sorts of demonstrations with it posted.

I've seen the smartcarry before... that's the one that goes over your package, right? That'd be great if I got a compact frame handgun, but my XD is a full frame 4" gun with a 16 round magazine... it'd be even more conspicuous if I had that down the front of my pants! I like small of the back carry... I just need to get an actual holster instead of just tucking it in my pants!

Sigs are awesome... I'd like to have one. They sure are pricey though!

There are a couple different handguns that you can buy conversion barrells for I think.
