GAS....lets hear what everyone has to say!

I payed 3.69 a gallon last night. Not too bad, relatively, but it still sucks. When is enough enough? Congress keeps holding these little hearings with the rich and profiting oil executives - but nothing is changing. Is there any wonder about the state of our economy and the low approval rating of the current congress and administration? wow, what aren't we getting?
I'm a little worked up about it, lol. It's not even June, and gas prices are insane!

yeah, I know $3.69 isn't something to lose my head over, but it really is getting up there. The problem is that I'm a full time student with a near-full time job. I can't just drive less (I have, I actually cut all of the extra trips out and now leave from school to work mon.-thrus.). The hours I work prevents me from taking mass transit... I'll be working until 8:30 or so, and the regular city busses take over 2 1/2 hours to get from downtown up to home (and 3 different busses). We have an "express" bust, but it only runs during rush hour. I can only cut so much out of my driving before I have to just suck it up and pay it.
I'm not in real bad shape. My commute to work is around 25 miles one way and mostly highway. A lot of people drive further. I haven't figured it out exactly, but I'm around 19 miles per gallon, so it's not real bad. It just makes it more expensive to live and be social - and that's money that I'm trying to save for the rest of life -- like a Master's degree or (later on) a home...you know, little things like that.

It was $4.11 here last night. I have my Ranger up to about a 20 mpg average, with a best last night of 23 mpg, but that was "light" footing around. I drive for a living, and the current gas prices are literally killing me. Its bad enough I have to try to make my truck get the mileage of a Prius, but I feel I'm getting close to my max economy and if gas keeps going up I'm afraid its going to put me in the poorhouse.
And this profanity filter sucks, especially when the words being censored aren't profane.

I feel you bro. I drive 300+ miles a day. I'm all over WV KY and OH in my job. I pretty much drive the whole time I'm on the clock. I get paid mileage, but the problem is gas prices are increasing while my mileage pay is staying the same.

So I was dating this guy who had a meeting with Exxon Mobile execs. and even though the meeting was about something else they got talking about fuel and they told him they plan to have it at $5.00 a year from now... I just close my eyes when I fill the truck. I go to the same few stations (depending on where I am in the city) and just fill 'er up without looking at the total. It doesn't hurt as much that way. ;-)
