I think an HD Ranger is something all of us want or at least wanted before FORD , in their infinite wisdom, chose to eliminate the Ranger from production.
FORD's response to you would be buy an F150 or Super Duty.
Once you have looked around the site you will find a lot of the Ranger Owners do a front SAS, Solid Axle Swap, to increase the front end durability, replace the rear axle with an Explorer or Ranger FX4, LvlII, rear axles. You can reenforce the frame in areas the rust out or crack, you will be the judge to what works for you.
How far to go will depend on how HD do you want it and how deep are the pockets !
