Well I got nothing to say about terminology, but the tail gate really is to easy. Back when I got my 84 first brought it home and was checking out what it needed, I opened the tailgate and the damned thing came off on my hand, I was just trying to open it and I thaught some how I had managed to break it. I did gind out that I needed new cables, and that the handle and latch mechanism needed oiling. Now I need to figure out how to customise the tailgate I like the smoth shaved look, but really want to keep my handle on the outside. I can understand how some people wouldn't understand it though, some folks are just more mechanically minded than others. Take my mother for instance, she's ben arround the F-100 we have for well over 20 years, and she still hasn't goten down that the handle has to be pulled out to one side, instead of up, of course it dosen't help that the top of the bed is almost level with her head.
