I got a big tax refund this year and have blwon it all. Was gonna by a macbook, that fell through, so decided to buy a thule rack and some used kayaks. Love the rack but want to sell the kayaks since they are river kayaks and cant keep a straight line on the lake for more than half a second. I was out there doing donuts in front of the rowing teams. :: disappointment.
If I were you I would save half and do a cheaper mod like exhaust, bull bar, or intake.

Pay off the credit card debt first! That will save you money in the long run.
Truck looks great as it sits. My philosophy on car modding: Think of it as a hobby like golf and don't use money you don't have to buy something for it. Spend it with moderation.
LoL my tax refund went straight into a high yield CD. I plan on doing some home renovations in the somewhat near future.

I already had a post about this I think I will like it, I have seen some pictures with the 265/75/16 with a 3" bl and I like the way a truck looks with some space in the wheel wells, much better than the "crammed" look, like the super duty trucks how they have so much space in the wheel wells. If it is that bad put the tbars back to stock (i got lifetime allignment).
I think I will pay off the card, leaves me with over 300, and get the bl, which kit should I get that is most reliable? meaning that it actually has all of the parts you need and everything fits right.

If you come across some "extra" money, and you have a choice of putting it on your credit card or depositing it into your savings account, I personally would put it into savings. Especially since you have no interest on the card for 12 months, and you can only use that credit card at pep boys.
If you deposit it into savings, you will always have it at your disposal and you can use it wherever and whenever you want. If you find yourself in a tight financial situation, you will then be able to go to the bank and pull that money out. If you put it all on to a card, and for some reason they close or cancel the card, well then the 800 bucks you just put on there is no longer at your disposal. You get what i'm saying?
You can always make a payment on the card, and they aren't going to increase the interest rate (unless of course you're late, or it is after 12 months...and then chances are it will bump up to something like 22%).
I am in a similar situation where i'm working on paying off my credit card and trying to save money for when I graduate college in 5 weeks. I am putting more into my savings so I can have somewhat of a cushion in case I ever need it.
I hope this all makes sense...it does in my head LOL.

So you have already paid the interest. If you don't believe that.
Next time you go to buy something for 0% interest, ask them what the CASH price is.
I would pay off the credit card. In the future, don't put anything on that card you can't pay for at the end of the month.
BTW. I NEVER get a tax REFUND. I always owe then a little. $150-200.
Why in the world would you give the govt. an interest free loan?

Trust me Ross. There's no such thing as a FREE LUNCH. The cost of the interest was built into the sales price.

Oh God...THANK YOU "MemphisSenior." I was reading through this thread wondering when someone was going to bring this up. I end up paying every year as well, for the same reason as yourself...I also refuse to give the government an interest free loan.

I give the gov't a loan 'cause I don't want to have to worry about paying them extra. I live paycheck to paycheck and if an unexpected expense larger than $50 comes along that means I'm skipping a meal or two or not driving somewhere to pay for it... I don't want to sit at the end of the year and have to find that extra money, I'd rather get a check back from them and get an opportunity to buy something I couldn't afford the rest of the year.

No...I dont.
Marie, come on, you can’t be giving ignorant politicians (In most cases) free money (Interest/all taxes for the most part) off of your hard earned work. You just have to be disciplined enough to put that money away on your own.
And please don’t take any of this as me being disrespectful.
You can pretty much figure out what you’re going to owe by looking at the previous year...Unless of course you get a huge raise. Also, you have to shrug away that mentality of the government giving you the "opportunity” to buy something you couldn’t afford the rest of the year. The government is TAKING from you the opportunity to afford something the rest of the year by taking from you to give to another to begin with. Unfortunately the government has become anti-opportunity by taking from you and everyone else for the “common good.”
