Pros/Cons 05 Fx4 Lvl2
Alright, SO here's my situation.
Small dealership in town has a 2005 Ford Ranger Fx4 Level 2 up for sale.
with how my lifes takin a slight uplift in luck I'm looking at buying it.
$15,350 is their price as of right now. Their wanting $370-$380 a month for a payment with $500 down, with a cosigner. or $3000 down with no cosigner.
68,6XX miles.
4.0soch
4x4
31in all terrains on 15in alcoas.
all the goodie really you want.
Very clean truck (pic below)
Now I am going to talk with my parents about it I'm hoping to talk them down to $15,000 because I noticed the rear tires will need replaced probably with-in a year, which I meantioned to them while discussing over the truck. What else can I do to wheel and deal them lower?
I have a bit of cash approx $5,000. and I have a friend who would by my truck in payments for roughly $3,500. so we are looking at around $8,500 in a short amount of time. My bank would probably give me a small loan to cover the rest.
Everyone give me the pros cons of these trucks. What you like what you don't like.
I'm really liking this truck so make me even more positive that I want it lol.
Idk I've just got so much on my mind because I'm starting to like it so much. Any other words of wisdom from anyone here would be appreciated thanks alot guys!

In my opinion, the price is a tad high. I'd think the truck is worth more around 14k.
I know mine isn't a LVL2, but I picked it up a year and a half ago with 30k miles for 13k.
You shouldn't have any problems talking them down 350 bucks. I'd try to talk them down to 14k if it were me.
As far as pros/cons...well, I love my 05. No issues with it thus far.
If you only need a loan for 5-6K, your payments will be super low. My guess is about 100 a month if its a 5 year loan.

I was hoping to get them further down to the $14,500 -$15,000 range. because I found a ranger in Kansas City Mizzou that is very similar. Not Level 2. but all the same pretty much, and with a 3in super lift and 305/70/17 nitto grapplers on 17in moto metal wheels. lower miles 48k miles. and he only wants $14,500. Thats the only competition I can really bring for them to battle with on price range.
Kbb pricing
Dealerships "excellent" $17,166
Private party "excellent" $15,166
"very good" $14,716
"good" $14,366
Imo its in the very good -to- excellent range
I'm probably going to be moving out to the country early next year is the reason I'm looking at it and debating so much.

2001 F150s are worth $6k KBB and are lucky to bring 4-5

I also qualify for their "first time car buyers loan".
maybe I could sell the stang (not 100% sure but have an older gentleman interested)
plus the cash I have on hand total maybe roughly 10-13k and get their "first time car buyers loan" for only for the remaining price? idk just thoughts off the top of my head.
or do it the other way.
sell the ranger plus alittle more from savings. and be around 10k still and just get the first time loan for rest of the remaining price and payments would be minimal.

Mother said no to cosining..
Father gave me the "hell no you dont need a new truck" speech.
I may try and set up to sell my mustang, maybe not. Im not 100% sure the direction i want to go with that yet.
This will give my friend who wants my truck to save up instead of going loan route he has some financial struggles anyway.
But if its sitting there another month or two (its been there a few weeks so far) its going to be mine. Maybe il wait untill im out of the house so the parental figures have no say.

Hmmm. well maybe it was an option I don't know. OR maybe the axle was swapped out OR maybe it isn't really a level 2. I would do some more digging on the truck
