Squealy Noise Update!!!
k remember i posted about that nosie i had no clue what it was...but since then i put a new tensioner pulley in and that didnt do anyhting. so i was still convinced its the belt and yesterday it actually started making that nosie at IDLE! i was pissed. so out of anger i sprayed some all purpose pb blaster and it STOPPED! so there you go, it has to be the belt now right??? it still made that noise when driving but not till 3000 rpms as it was 2500 before. NOW anyone have suggestions???
oh and one of my friends suggested spraying windex on it instead, wat u think bout that?? i dont really want the belt to jump off lol

The belt shouldn't jump off if its put on right. May dads truck has the same problem and has been doing it for over a year really bad. I was looking at it the other day and I found that the water pump pulley is ever so slightly wobbling and the noise kinda sounds like it coming from that area so that has to be it. I talked to a mechanic a wile back about it and he said that I should check for a pulley out of alignment, it wasnt out of alignment but it wobbled.

Phil, you know I know a lot. Why don't you come over and we can figure it out? I'm guessing the belt is just glazed over and when it slips it starts squeaking.
When it was idling was the a/c compressor on as well as your stereo up loud? Because that puts a big load on the belt and it can slip a little. I'm also willing to bet that the idler pulley needs a cleaning or replacing. (Not sure if the 4.0 has that) Either way, a goodyear gatorback belt usually solves belt squeaking.

Are you sure it's coming from the serpentine system??
Check that idler pulley...the one connected to nothing.....it's just sorta chillin' there. Those goes out as well.
How old is the belt? I vote stretched belt, or wrong belt put on if you recently replace it. Throw on a Goodyear Gatorback...mine stock 35k belt would squeek at startup and sometimes at idle and while driving....replaced it, put 50k on it with no squeeks. Then the tensioner pulley seized and distroyed it. replaced and now have about 20k on the new gatorback.
