tell them you had aftermarket corners, the insurance has to replace what is on the vehicle.
also, if the colour doesn't match PERFECTLY, because of the clear on the rest of the truck is faded or something, they have to paint the rest, as it matched before... just keep complaining till you are happy

BBBZZT! nope. They have to return the vehicle to pre accident condition. Not 'as new' condition. Just because the rest of the car is faded, its not their problem. On the plus side, solid red is easy to match and blend. If they fix it, even if the color was off you wouldnt see it.
BTW, the shop paying part of the deductable isnt legal (at least in CA).
Not sure what year your truck is, but it doesnt look like a total. New bumper, brackets, grille, fenders header panel and lights. hood and stuff too. Its gonna be a couple thousand but if the truck is still booking at more than 8K or so i think youll be fine.

your right, LIKE I SAID, the truck has to be back to it was before the accident, in this case, a truck that matches all the way around

I'm with Grant. I tend to haul *** in the left uphill lane. HATE people next to me. Then when I pass them, I tend to ride in both uphill lanes. Going down hill, if you're going to fast, you'll rear end someone because at the bottom of the blind corner of the hill, there's a stop light.

2 NARROW uphill lanes vs. a single narrow downhill lane - the curbs are easily 15" high, way too big - they woudl rock your tires/rims if you ever nudged them.
Big trucks go up it ALL the time, as in the big 16 wheelers - and they dont give any space to go up next to.. if your one of the unlucky ones with a 16 wheeler going downhill, and a 16 wheeler going uphill - your as good as toast if you dont eitehr drop behind, or move well ahead of the big-rig going up.
its a nasty hill, I dont mind taking it when traffic is light - but when its heavy its a pain in the rear.. especially as Shane said - the stop light at the bottom sucks pretty bad.. I dont want to imagine what woudl happen if one person at the bottom slammed on there brakes and it carries all the way up the hill *shudders*

Mike....I've NEVER seen a semi go up or down that hill.....it's illegal for them to do so and there straight up ain't the room to do so either. Semi's go down to the 207th ave onramp.
Cody.... how's this for now?..... The Orange dot is where Bry's pic is taken at. Top of hill is the bottom of the pic.

Try out "238th & cherry park, gresham, oregon". Thats the intersection at the bottom of the pic. Unfortunately, you can't drive it down the hill...evidently that hill is too unsafe for the camera car to drive down or up. LOL!
EDIT: "1344 NE 238th Dr, Troutdale, OR, United States". You can drive up the hill in the same direction Bry was going. Go south and you'll be going towards the hill.
For what it's worth...speed limit is like 35...and we all know NO ONE goes just 35 through there.

thanks tips, if they repaint the front of the truck, and the back half doesn't match, they can either make the front half oxidise so it matches, or re paint the entire thing (which do you think is cheaper)

They wont paint the whole truck regardless. The oxidation is looked upon as existing damage so to speak. If the entire truck was scratched to hell (like a work truck) and they replaced the fender, would they then have to scratch up the new fender to 'match' or would they paint the whole car over? Neither of course. Youll simply get a new shiny fender with no scratches, and a door they blended into with scratches that were clearcoated over.
They will tint the color to get as close as they can to the existing finish, blend that color into the existing panel and clear the entire panel they are working on. They will not repaint the whole car though. Especially if it is an insurance job. If the paint was really bad and faded, they would likely use flattening agent in the new clear before going through the hassle of repainting the whole thing. They would likely polish the adjacent panels to make them look better before delivering to the car if its really that big of an issue.
I doubt any of that will be the case though, as when he gets the car back itll look fine no matter what they do. Solid reds are an easy blend.
BTW to answer the 'which is cheaper' question... its much cheaper to flatten out the clear on the front of the truck than to detrim and repaint the whole truck. Completes are not looked on highly in a shop unless its a NEW car. (yes it happens... factory defects and transportation damage... i could tell stories but lets not :D)

Ok i got everything today from the police department. in Or, you have to write out a report and take it into the DMV. i didnt know that! well i did it and the report states that i put on the gas to maintain my speed at 35MPH and lost control of the truck witch i stated before and it true. and ran into the ran as shown in the picture above. Also the truck got from the tow yard to the auto shop in tigard at around 3-4pm. they will look at it tomorrow and let me know the damage of it.
I was TOLD by an employee that i can put up a law suit with ford due to the air bags did not go off at the impact and speed i was going at. (shane this is the same guy i told you about in the e-mails i sent lol) OH and also i don't get 200.00 taken off my dedustable due to i did everything myself (went to the dmv, police station and insurance company)
Also from the repost if shows just damage on the drive side of the truck not the whole front end. ALTHOUGH they will have to replace the whole grill and front bumper and valance WOO-HOO! lol i said that due to i wanted that all repainted anyway due to chips and nics in the paint. my only prob is once it is all said and done it better run like it should. some vehicles dont run correctly after major work done to them. but we shall see.
OH i asked about aftermarket due to my clear corners. they said they have to replace them with stock ones. i said i have the stock ones they said bring them over im like NO give me new ones please. im not driving to Tigard Or, just so u can save money!
okay more to come tomorrw night!

That 'guy' is not a credible source of info. sorry. lol. If the accident simply wasn't a big enough impact to trip the inertia switch, the bags won't go off. Your truck....light accident. Just a small light lick. Me, i'm the guy that blows airbags for hitting a pothole.
You should see if they'll give you some '06 corners.

Well glad to hear no one got hurt and that your truck wasn't a write off.
I guess a bonus that there were no criminal charges laid as well. Loosing control, crossing the line, and having a head on usually ends in someone being at fault and charges being laid. Guess your insurance is also going to cover the repairs to the other vehicle. How bad are your rates going to climb for that?

I found one that i want same color as the old one just a year older and a step side
2004 Ford Ranger XLT--Super Cab, 4x4, Auto, 4 dr., Tremor Pkg
I was thinkin IF i buy it back i can do a bed swap and convert all my stuff over. BUT it has a aftermarket sound system(not sure of a brand and new speakers) but we shall see what the adjuster says tomorrow. Also my insurance company dose not use KBB.com so idk what they will give me. i asked and it's pre accident shape. ill keep ya all posted.

That truck has been tampered with. Not bad...but it's been touched. The seats aren't stock for the truck same goes for the center console. Thats actually a factory sound system...pioneer head unit with two 10" down firing subs in the back. The truck is basically an Edge model with a sound system from the factory.
