quick lift installation ??????
Just got my hood lift system in from Wayne (underdog performance) and i have a question
http://www.stuffforyourranger.com/st...aa7c5263094f0d
In there installation guide is states to measure from hood corner 25-1/2'' but if i have a fx4 to measure 26-1/2''
I have a 03 edge that has the same hood as the fx4,with in those years,i guess i should go ahead with the 26-1/2'' measurement???Im guessing its for the extra weight
has any one else put these on a Edge if so what measurement did you run

Its not from weight. It's an anomoly on some FX4's. It's been a while, but memory says the bracket won't mount to the 25.5" mark. Something is in the way. It should be self evident. If it will attach at 25.5, use that spot. It will lift the hood higher and is the preferred spot.
I'm trying to look at the install guide to jog my memory. So far it's not loading for me.

I just called redline to confirm. What I stated is correct. The undergrid is different on some hoods. You can go higher if it doesn't fit onto the countour of the hood. The key is to go higher, not shorter. You go shorter and the shocks cannot compress and the hood won't shut.
I've installed a few sets. The big thing is Don't drill through the other side of the hood. I finish the drilling in reverse. That seems to keep it from grabbing and shooting to the other end. Having a tube over the bit to stop it also works.
