Mechanic recommendation in AZ to repair A/C?

Hi everyone. Temps in Tucson are going over 100 and I currently have no A/C in my car. I took it to my local mechanic and he didn't really know what was wrong with it but he said that it would probably take about $1000 to fix. So I'm looking for any good recommendations for mechanics in the Tucson or Phoenix area. Thanks.
