borla ? or exhaust recommendation...

ok im getting a borla muffler for free with these specs..

borla turbo xl 2.25 inlet and 2.25 outlet.

my question is will this be effective? i know most kits are 2.5 all the way through but...

i want to have a SI/SO stainless steel Cat back exhuast.

would you use it? if i decide not to use it ill either use my flowmaster SI/DO(dumped after the axle) that i have now or buy a magnaflow SI/SO.

if ya got a better idea, lets here it, either way i look t it i need a new exhuast of some kind, also factor in the fact that i will have a body lift on the truck next week.

i say nothing looks better then exhaust out the back of a lifted 4x4. borla is a nice mellow tone and can be made into duals with an after muffler y-pipe.

i say put the borla on and dual it out.

i say keep what you have and send me the borla.....

depends on what sound you want, i want something quieter when i dump it, the flow will be too loud for my taste

heh, to loud huh...

either the borla or magnaflow will be a good choice. IMO they both have the same type of sound with each having a slightly different tone.

FYI, if u go magnaflow find the shortest case muffler possible. short = loud. i found the shortest SI/DO for sarahs and its loud but not annoying loud with that magnaflow tone. well u heard the sound clips.

i was chatting with a fellow fullsize owner about magnaflows and he had a large case and it was almost stock with a high flow cat replacing the 2 stockers.

another fellow i know has the same set up with an iddy bitty case magnaflow and it was noticibly louder and throaty. both even exited in the same spot.

then another fella has his exit out the rear with a magnaflow (size unknown) and his was barely audible.

BTW, these were all f150s with 300s. so it was a constant thing...hell they all had 5 speed trannies and high flow cats...

sarahs is quiet under 2000 rpm, after that it really barks.

Not only that, but ive heard from you and others that borla flows the best, and of course most power gains.
