Totatled ranger

So the day after christmas I hit a telephone pole and seems i might have done enough damage to be condisdered totaled. So now im thinking about what next to get if they come back and total it so any sugestions would be awsome and any info on any of the new trucks would be great. Im looking for something a little bigger then a ranger.

Sucks about the truck man.

So for the new truck are you stuck on Fords or American cars? If not look at a Tacoma. Its bigger than a Ranger but not full size big.

I looked into the new 05 Tacomas before I settled on buying another Ranger. I spent a lot of time on the Tacoma boards and the new Tacos are not the trucks they used to be. The frames are very weak under the bed, many of the offroaders are having to reinforce them on their own. The beds warp, resulting in not being able to close the tailgate, there is a nagging issues with sagging rear springs that have resulted in many TSBs and reduced payload ratings. On paper I was 100% sold and ready to buy a new Access Cab. After listening to a lot of owners I was completely turned off.

I liked the Frontiers but there are no new ones around me to buy. The 3 local Nissan deals have 0 on their lots right now and I didnt want to drive 70 miles to test drive a truck.

No problems here with my Tacoma. I haven't wheeled it yet but I don't plan on driving on top of boulders the size of cars. I'm sure those are the guys that reinforce the rear frame section.

Well yes and no. I went Silverado hunting and I saw MSRP 36K for an extended cab 4wd Z71 5.3. They would not go much lower on the price. My truck was 32 MSRP and I got it for 30.

Yeah ok. My 2010 auto doesn't blow a clutch slave cylinder every year, leak every fluid even after I have seals changed, ride like crap or anything else like my Ranger did. I get a slight vibration when I mash the gas but I have heard there is no real fix for that from Toyota but all well. I'll just get an aftermarket shaft and be done with it. Most car companies have problems with the first year(s) of a new model. The difference is that Toyota makes an effort to fix them.

Its funny. People will believe anything that the internet says. My Ford was nothing but bad luck. If my Toyota turns into a POS I'll say something about it. Overall I'm 110% satisfied with my truck. The op wanted something bigger than another Ranger so I made a suggestion.

You dont need to get all defense about everything. People's testimonies on owning a Tundra isnt good enough? Then what is? I should buy one and figure the problems out myself? I was just stating that I wouldnt get a Tundra. No one is bashing you on your choice. I am personally 100% satisfied with my Ranger. No problems

What ya looking for Alan? Sticking with Ford or something else?

Just trying to educate a bit is all. Hating a vehicle just based on where it comes from is retarded.

Its not like one person is having issue, many people are.

We almost bought a Tundra and or Tacoma, but the reviews from people turn me away.

Its a nice truck, powerful, rides good, but overall not worth my dime.

Tacos are way overpriced!

Glad your having good luck, but not a chance I was going to take.

Well their opinions are based on owning the 1st gens. Yeah the 1st gens are way better because they were still built overseas. Now all the parts are made in the USA and some trucks assembled in Mexico. Quality is down because of that but not horrible and still way better than a Ranger IMO. There are problems here and there but not more than any other company and also they get fixed.
