My chance to go styleside?

My chance to go styleside?
So I found this --> Craigslist find
I've been wanting to go styleside for some time now. Is this a good price for what's there?
I forgot to call today so I might tomorrow, but I'm hoping it's straight and rust free.
Should I try talking him down? Or is he right on the money price wise?

I'd go for it dude. Stepsides are lame unless they're on a single cab. Don't negotiate prices over the phone or email, do it in person. its easier to talk someone down when they're in front of you. Also, when you offer him a lower price, don't say you have to repaint it. The seller doesn't give a **** if you need paint and it would be your problem, not his lol.
lucky bastard already having an 06+ tailgate! and DEM TAILZ YO

Tax return is bigger than expected so I may be giving this guy a call soon.
When I call I will pretend I haven't seen the ad and I was just show the pic and phone number, maybe he will come down a bit.
Even so I will make a lower cash offer, especially if I go there with a trailer and cash in hand

2004 Ford Ranger
Here we go again. Called today, only has a small scratch on the passenger side above the wheel area.
Tailgate still has the emblems.
Now I just need a trailer to go get it.

Carry it back on the bed of your Ranger.
The bed doesn’t weigh much.
Take a couple pieces of 2x6 a little wider than the new truck bed tie them to the existing bed and then tie the new bed to the 2x6 and to the truck frame if possible.
Use straps if you have them to hold things together.
I would carry it upside down but your call on that and keep the straps tight.

A little !
I have done it twice with Ranger beds and twice with Jeep Tops.
The trick is to secure the cross boards really well, then secure the bed to the cross boards, then if you can get to the frame with straps and hook, do it !
Take your time, do it right and you will save some money, unless... you own a trailer and want to tow it across a state or two.
Good luck with the trip either way...

Seeing snowmobiles and what not on top of some planks over the bed is more common than you think. The bed itself isn't very heavy so 3-4 guys can lift it up and set it on top. I wouldn't be afraid to do it, just hopefully you won't have to far to go.
otherwise see what UHaul rents trailers for.

If you've got the storage room, could always do waht I did...
This was a 3.5hr trip.
Took tools along to remove/install bumper. You may be good to go without touching your bumper 'cause you're going the opposite way I was....styleside to flareside.
I'd go measure for ya, but my truck isn't here and it's got a canopy on it right now.
