I don't much worse than a 2wd 4.0. I average 18MPG with 4.10 gears, 31" tires and a 4.0. I don't wheel that much anymore but I'd never buy a 2wd truck. Also this is not a 2wd vs 4wd debate. The fact is that a 2wd is better at high speed wheeling than anything else and a 4wd truck will get you anywhere the 2wd can't but they suck for high speed unless you have the green for a 4wd LT kit. As I said before a well built 2wd truck will get you far but not as far as a 4wd truck.

You made it up the easier part of the hill hill but not the way I went up. Tommy made it because he went 50mph.

My truck isnt for offroad yet, my Jeep doesnt dissappoint me at all and I take it to places most can't. Just to **** them off, I'll do it in 1 wheel drive until It won't move anymore, then put it in 2 Gotta love open diff's and air lockers....

Well no I would wheel if I had a better truck. But when I go to Glamis or Pismo I want 4wd. Sure a 2wd can make it in the sand floored the whole time but they do get stuck even if your careful.

Oh and we have a land line. No much cell signal at home and we have an alarm that needs a land line.

Yeah some of those offshoots aren't that bad when you are going down them. When you go the other way they can be worse and I'm sure you didn't hit up the really rocky trail. You guys just didn't wanna wait until I got there so you went your own way. The only carnage happened to my Tim in the Silverado because he had a sh!tty spotter.

I would use it more if my truck wasn't such a piece. I don't like to hit up mud on the quad and you really can't ride in snow. I'd use the 4wd in mud and snow.

Good for your buddy. No load in or a small load in it right? Its different when you are towing or you have a big load in the bed. My buddy swears that 4wd is a waste yet it took up an hour and 45 minutes to get to camp because his 2wd F150 kept getting stuck even after we took the trailer off of it.

i dont wheel much either and i have 4wd.. my truck pretty much lives in 4wd in the winter, because i live 20kms out of the nearest town and they dont plow the roads out here till late in the day.

oh and ya i'd never buy a 2wd.. just wasting my money imo.. but thats just me. but it didnt stop me from wheeling my 97 dakota when i had it, it was 2wd, sucked in the winter though.

Big Bear, Mt. High and Mt. Baldy have snow and are close to me. Also just because I live near the dessert doesn't mean there aren't 4wd only trails around me. See when you experience rear offroading then you will know why 4wd is important. One example is Azusa Canyon. 2wd trucks are not allowed in there for the fact that the state knows 2wd trucks will get stuck.

I don't stir anything up. I voice my opinion and some people can't take it. Its not my fault if others make a big deal about nothing. I will also always come back and defend my opinion.

Others may have gone in the past but since 08 they have been really strict. They make you lock it in and they check under to see if everything is functioning. They don't just look for stickers like when I first started going.
