Just purchased a 2011 Ford Ranger

Hey all,

I just picked up a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0 5spd and had a few questions.

Will larger tires mess up the traction control system?

Can a Ford Explorer OHC work in a 2011? I did it in my 2004 and already miss it in the new truck.

Also, has anyone switched the interior door panels to the older 2004-2009 style?

Thanks,
Zach

I am not sure about the new door panels but larger tires will not mess up the traction control but be aware that they will make your speedometer show slower than what you are actually doing. I would try the door panel anyway if it is not too expensive. I don't see why the OHC would not work.

Thank you for the response! I'm not going super huge with the wheels & tires. It has 235/75R15s to 260/70R16s which is what i ran on my previous 2004.

I may take the headliner out to make sure the metal piece the bracket mounts to is still there...lol

If they haven't changed much on the design of the ranger since 2006.. I doubt you are not going to have that metal skeleton the your 2004 had. Now that I have my OHC, I wouldn't go without it.

Pictures of the newer door panels? My concern would be the wiring in the harnesses would be diffferent, making it a major pain in the *** to change.

Ya I'm constantly looking to the OHC to see the temperature since it's around freezing right now in my region. LoL I need to get one installed on my 11.

I think I'm going to skip changing the door panels.

the wiring should be slightly similar to 04 since thats when they moved the sjb to the passenger side kick panel.

I have an ohc sitting in my friends garage if you want it. It'll only cost the price of a medium flat rate usps box, I have no use for it.

I appreciate the offer. I ended up buying one with another item and will hopefully be getting it soon.

Then comes the fun of running all the wire.
