Is anyone else getting shocked when they get out of their truck?? What the hell causes that?

ah...read on the trailblazer (please dont stone me) forums, that it might be caused by sliding on the seat when you exit..

 

If you use fabric softener you will create less static electricity.

 

I killed 10 cell phones due to static shocks, new phone's all different makes and models acting all crazy my 11th is good!

Simple static electricity! You build up a charge by moving back and forth across the seat when driving and your body stores this charge. Also, it is heightened by the cold and low humidity, as Ant said. When you get out, your body releases the charge and you get zapped. It's like shuffling across a room with **** carpet in wool socks and touching a doorknob. Fun, huh?

To avoid shocks when getting out of the car -

HOLD the metal door frame before you get out

KEEP HOLDING as you get out, until you are fully out of the car.

It's easy with practice!
