Where did ya'll get your Flareside tool boxes?

I am desperate for a tool box but can't find one on Craigslist and cant find one for under 400!!

Where did you flareside peeps get your tool boxes and how much did you pay??

I feel your pain. They're hard to find cheap. I'm still looking for "that deal". lol

Lowe's has two models, $148 for a slim line and $288 for a regular sized box.
I got the slim line and it's working out great for me.

ya for a regular bed, stepsides have only two options i think, uws makes one and so does dee-zee

very very expensive might i add

What I dont understand is that they require LESS material to make.. but they cost MORE to buy? WTF?

Yea that thought came to my mind and then i realized how difficult it would be...

Wal Mart has this box in the auto dept that is more like a massive cargo box that I thought about bolting in??? Anyone seen it?

That Is what I would do. Get a box that would go under the rail. Just bolt it in.

If i don't get a tonneau cover for my new steppie, i plan on making one. Shouldn't be that hard....but i guess i'd probably make it out of aluminun though....TIG ftw!

Thats what I am thinking it has come down to haha. I really like the look of the above rail box... but not for 400 I dont!

I will do that for the meantime and keep searching for "the deal" haha

Nice but i love the DEE ZEE the regular profile not the low pro interceptor has it thats my goal about 4 paychecks away cause of gas LOL

Cost = Supply & Demand

Since not many people buy them, they dont stock teh materials to make them in large numbers - so what is made, is made at a steeper price to make up for the time invested to build them.


Hence - why its so much cheaper to buy a fullsize box compared to most others, as they are much more widely available.
