well, I have been waiting for it for awhile now, and tonight was the night.....I now only have 1st gear, and kind of have reverse and park.....nothing else will work LOL. The tranny has been acting funny for awhile, and it just decided to go....it shifted from 1st, to 2nd to 3rd all in about a half second doing about 15 MPH, and the shifted back to first and slamming into gear every time.

I hear ya man, Tranny went out on my Bronco yesterday with no warning. Ranger's down due to the differential blowing up, but we should have that taken care of in the next month or so...

 

well, hopefully I can get a new tranny in it soon, reverse went out today LOL and I had it in second goin down the road at 50 MPH doin 4800RPM lol I think the motor is going next

 

Ouch, you sound like your in need of an older ranger.. the old one's never break down, tranny and engine are still pushing 250k+ on my old '88 and I've been driving it to work while my newer one is in the barn drying off till I can get to the water pump this weekend.

 

well, I am gonna put another motor and tranny in it and sell it and just take a loss on it

 

I hate tranny's, they can be such a pain. Got one rebuilt last year in my old truck, started to whine again and I sold the truck. New truck i've had the tranny out 7 times in 6 months! Good luck with your rebuild.

 

the sad part is, I still owe $11,200 on this truck, there is no warranty, and I have all these problems all ready....

 

Yea that sucks. My trucks are old with alot of miles so its no suprise to me. I'd be ticked if I had a newer truck and had big problems like that.

 

I would rather drive the stupid thing off a cliff right now than look at it!!

**UPDATE**

I got a rebuilt tranny put back in the truck and it runs perfect!! It shifts so much better than it did. The inside of my other tranny looked like a rats nest, I have no clue as to how I was still abe to drive it like it was.
