Well if that came off of YOUR truck then ide say its not safe to drive....because your either missing a bolt or a nut.....
Ford is cheap already, so any extra parts they didnt need they wouldnt have put on....so im gonna say you should find out what it is and put it back before it falls apart...

I wouldnt drive the truck until you find out whats going on. It came from the upper control arm from one of the sides.
see this thread. Although he replaced his with the correction kit, it shows where it is suppose to go.

EDIT: IF the "PA" stamp on it means anything it could mean it came from the passenger arm. Where exactly on your truck did this clump of mud reside?

People keep saying "lower" arms -- but it's from the upper arms.
There are four of them altogether on each side. One under each bolt head and nut.
The upper arm pivots at the frame top on a bolt. That bolt is secured with a nut. If both bolts and both nuts are on each side, you're probably okay.
If your truck was aligned at any time with a cam bolt kit, those get replaced -- somebody might have left it in there somewhere.
So, inspect both pivots on both upper arms and make sure you have a bolt and nut in each. If you do, don't sweat it.

well, if i remember correctly, on my 2wd coil spring, theres at least one cam bolt on the lower control arms
and one on each upper arm bolt

OK I think I am safe to drive: My left side has a different bolt & washer than the right side.
What do ya think?(yes I know my truck is really dirty underneath)
