Ranger engine transplant

hey i have a 2002 ford ranger with a 4 cylinder in it and we have a taurus sho v6 3.0L at home and i was wondering if any one has ever swapped it into a ranger before

I dont think it can be done since the tarus is a fwd car and the ranger is a rwd truck. But with enough money and fab work why not.

i read somewhere that apparently you can turn it and a ranger transmission will bolt up to it and apperently you are able to turn the intake manifold around to fit the rwd the biggest concern i am having is will the will the wiring work or am i gonna have to cut all the wires and redo it all

yeah it can be done with enough fab, i see a lot of people using the v6/v8 sho and the 'tec for dune buggies

I used to have a 90 SHO and I was a member of shoforum. I frequently recall people mentioning that the SHO engine mates up to an Aerostar transmission with little or no mods. And IIRC weren't Aerostar vans also a RBV?

I think it would be a pretty neat idea, but it would take alot of fab work wouldn't it?

4.0 V6 from a ranger is $400. Grab one after 2003 and throw it in. Much easier.
