cause it was a pain when i wanted to use the full bed and had to unbolt it, now i just take out the pins

i thought about drilling the holes in the bed, then having nuts welded to the bottom side of the bed and then just running a bolt throught the holes and screwing it into the nut to secure the carrier......
or i thought about some type of a uni-strut design to were i bolt a rail to the bed floor, then attact the carrier to it somehow....

3 mounting plates, you drill and bolt them into the bed. Then the carrier slips into the rear two and onto the long bolt up top, then a wing nut goes on the bolt up top, it's held in. You can take it out very easy.
If I'm not mistake, thats how it is, my friend used to have on in his yota.

On a side note: Junkyard was closed due to it being a holiday weekend I guess. I'll be out there though later this week. PM me if you happen to find one before then.

i may modify the fabtech one to be able to take in and out..........maybe make some pieces that allow the back of it(were there are 2 points incontact with the bed) slip into it and for the front doing the welded bolt idea to the front mount.....maybe a bolt welded under the bed and one on top for added strength....

I have seen what your talking about. A while back i compiled some photos of angled mounts to fab up one of my own and saved the only photo i could find displaying the quick release. I dont remember who makes it or what its called but it did have the quick release design.
Here is the photo i have saved to my hdd:
