I actually like the center shift more every day. I didn't like it when they first came out but now I love it. It's much smoother to shift between gears, and you can select 1-2-D and then lock/unlock O/D. I downshift to into 2nd a lot of the farm so I don't ride the brakes around. Always hated doing that with column shifters for some reason.

Dude i have owned a 2001 Silverado 4x4 4.8 and a 2003 Silverado 5.3 Z71... both had plenty of problems and never impressed me with ride quality. had good power. but next time your steering wheel has a rattle in it, don't be surprised.. it only cost me $1300... F chevy. They have screwed me out of thousands bro... between My Colorado, Silverado's and Cobalt... I'm done... about $6500 Done... all had warranty....
I hate to break it to you, but not every auto manufacturer makes a perfect vehicle. Wait until you put some miles on something, and then tell me you aren't going to have to put money into it. Yeah, maybe you had issues with your previous choices of vehicles. But as I said, no automobile is perfect. Nothing with moving parts is going to be perfect.
I have done my research, and Ford just doesn't fit with me. I hate the interiors, I hate the price of parts, I hate the styling. I don't hate my Ranger, because it's not a new truck. Parts are fairly cheap for it (still not as cheap as an equivalent Chevy or Dodge compact pickup), and I like how it looks. Although, I do like the new style Ranger, the new F150's and super duties just don't do it for me.
But hey, if you like them, that's all that matters. All I said was that floor shifters for an automatic truck are a failure. Cars have floor shifter auto's. If you showed me a picture of a Chevy truck with a floor shifter automatic, I would say the same thing. Same with Dodge. Same with Nissan. Same with Toyota. That is all I said.

You guys hate Chevy's, I hate the new Ford full size trucks. End of story. You can call a Chevy a pile all you want, it's not going to change my opinion. And if you don't like it, then ignore it

The coal company I work for (400+ employees) has a ton of work trucks, probably 50/50 split Chevy/Ford. The Chevy trucks all have the lower valances ripped off, junk hanging from the bottom, rattle like an SOB and have super squishy suspension. The Fords are a hell of a lot tighter, F150's and super duties.

Apparently you didn't read the all the posts:
I believe that is called "brand loyalty".

You all want my honest opinion... the 04+ F150's are ****. Sorry, they have yet to wow me. The 09's are better, but I doubt I'll ever own one because I have no liking for a new half ton with luxury accessories. Personally, the only Ford trucks I like from the new ones are the Super Duty's.
1997 when they re-styled the F150, put the mod motor in, did away with small block pushrods... the F150 became a pile of junk.... and still is.
Now, I have a 3/4 ton Ford. Why? Because I choose to drive a Ford. I like Fords, but I don't call myself loyal to em. In all honesty, if I could afford one, I'd love a Dodge Cummins. Halftonwise, I'd take a new Titan or Tundra over a Chevy, Dodge, or Ford. American cars arent made like they used to be.
