bought chrome mirror covers, and door handle overlays, NEED INPUT!

Well like the title says, i got my chrome mirror caps and door handle overlays, mom boughtem for me for xmas anyways, after inspecting them, i have come to a couple conclusions.

1) the mirror caps are NOT marked as to which side they go on, BUT, they only fit right if their on the right side. (i think buzzair screwed up on this part) cause when i put the obvious driver side piece on the passenger side, the same gap he has shows up. its wierd, ud think they would be identical, but their not. its a mch cleaner fit if the their on the right sides.

2) That two sided oem tape they come with I have little faith in them.

So, I was thinking. Right now my truck is in the shop warming up, i washed it, and now its drying and should be about 65F by morning. good enuff to apply my goodies. But, like I said, I have little faith in the 2 sided tape as far as making a secure bond. So, I have this glue stuff, that we used on our other truck, and we has used it quite extensively on all kinds of projects, its sub floor cement in a caulk tube. I was thinking of putting some between my mirror and the cap, and also on the door handles for 'extra grip' its rated 4400 for those in the 'know' this stuff sticks like no other, and hold its bond like crazy which is why I thought about using it on both my mirrors and on the door handles, the only problem I can see arising, well 2 problems, either, A) they will be on for life with 0 chance of removing them. or B) will pop off and cause surface damage to the plastic if it loses its bond. But what can I do to ensure the most secure stickiness? the caps are plastic, and the door handle overlays are stainless. Should i wipe everything down with acetone first? or laquer thinner? whats your suggestions?

Well I put them on. found out the drivers side and passenger sides are different. oddly enuff. anyways, after closely examining the location of the pieces of tape and where the gap is, I took the liberty to apply my glue to those areas, I then attached a special padded c clamp to clamp it down to the mirror. this resulted in almost a perfect fit. I want to see what happens in a day or two with the difference in temperatures and what not and see if I need to make further adjustments.
