Switched to the dark side

Hey all, I know I haven't been around much at all since I got rid of my Ranger 2 years ago now. I did post when I bought my 1976 F150 (which is now for sale).

BUT I did want to get rid of my commuter car and get back into a truck so without further adieu...

2010 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 4.0L V6 Auto. 38k.

Nothing fancy but it had all the features I wanted. I drove it home (11 hours) yesterday and I FINALLY understand why all you V6 guys always bitched hahaha. 20MPG sucks! I miss my 4 cylinder already.

Sorry I couldn't stay in the Ford family though, Rangers are outdated and F150s are too big for my 5'8ness.

Not bad, I could never buy an extended cab truck. 9 years is long enough without 4 doors.

I'm assuming this will be a DD so do you have any plans for it?

Auto unfortunately.

Well it cost me a pretty penny so upgrades are on the back burner. I want to do a 3 inch life, 33s, roof rack, and a custom plate bumper. But that's all down the road.

She's my long term DD. Probably for the next 10 years.

My last truck was single cab and the Yota's back doors fold out with 2 jump seats so this is a huge improvment. 4 doors would have been nice but I had a budget...and this was at the limit of it lol.

It's unfortunate the Ranger was discontinued. Real mistake there by Ford, in my opinion.

'Yotas are expensive, but they're friggin bulletproof reliable. Never had an issue with reliability and I've driven a few different models.

Meh, I like Tacomas but for the price I would have gone with an F150 or Silverado

You know I debated that a lot as far as what to get and I had a lot of factors to weigh.

Part of it was size and mostly reliability. The damn thing is a tank. It won't die.

On that note Silverados and Sierras have the chevy V8s so they are nice and reliable but my Dads 09 Sierra has had it's issues and it's so big I hate driving it.

I'm still stuck on compact trucks, not ready for the fullsize world you know? Already getting the bug again :) I missed my truck!

Nice man! I just went to the dark side myself. Picked up an 07 FJ the other day. Best decision I've made in a while!

I kinda thought it was appropriate and semi obligatory to include a Ranger in my Toyota picture on R/F haha
