2003-2005 FX4 Level II

If any of you are browsing around and happen to find a Level II in the specified year range, please post it here. I have been looking, I just haven't found anything in good shape for a reasonable price. I don't really have a preference in color, but I would prefer it to be an automatic. I have ran across a few already, but they are either out of this world in price or just don't seem to be in good shape. I may even take a 2006 if it has the Torsen with the old Level II package. I would prefer it to be in the state of North Carolina, I don't want to drive too far. Border states may be considered. I don't want this as a want to buy, since I am just browsing as of now.

Help me out fellows/ladies!

There is one at a private owned car lot here. It would definitely be a drive for you, but I'll get the details if you want.

I'm sure you've heard of craigslist because everyone has but you're not familiar with Craiglook: Craigslist Search you might to use that. It just allows for better searches of Craigslist. I used it to find my 50 and I'm damn glad I did as I would of never checked South Dakota for a truck.

That is clean! I am actually growing fond of the red. I think my favorites are Black, White, DSG, and Red.

I don't like red, but I wish I would have gotten a bright red one.

Well Scott, you did well my friend. Here is the break down on the ones you posted:

1. I looked at this truck a while back when it was for sale at Medlin GMC Buick, it was traded in awful quick to be back for sale now. Plus, it has a body lift, and an ugly pin stripe.

2. This truck has too many miles, and is for sale by an auto wholesaler.

3. I can't stand the 2002 interior.

4. These guys are smoking crack for the price on this truck, plus it has over the rail bed liner under the cover. That means when I take it off, there will be scratches. I hate those bed liners!

5. I looked at this truck a little while ago, it was not taken care of. It has a body lift, and mud all under the truck. Scratches everywhere!

6. This truck actually looks clean, if you can look past the tailgate handle and the horrible tires. Again, they want too much.

7. This is the only truck I didn't find myself. This thing is beautiful! I may pursue this truck!

8. The blue one is okay, but I'm not exactly a sonic blue color guy.

Both items removable and you could even sell the BL for cash. As far as traded in quick, I dk about reasons why.

prices can be talked down, i talked down $2500 on my truck. Dont take the liners off, if you do have a sprayin bedliner put in and have it put over the rails.

Again prices are negotiable. A tailgate handle is cheap and can be replaced as well as tires.

YOU STAY AWAY FROM MY TRUCK I WANT....lol

Sonic Blue is just sexy, point blank

I see you are a PICKY guy...lol Here is the problem that I see with your search. You want a top of the line Ranger in MINT condition for cheap. That is not going to happen. The truck was made to offroad and that's what most done with them. If you do find one like you want, its not going to be in your price range because most dealers know what they have and are not going to let a LII fo for cheap especially if its MINT.

So here is my suggestion, Find one that meets MOST of your criteria, and see what things you can replace if you have too. Also, alot of times you can have the dealer replace tires if they want the sell bad enough. You are fretting too much over the small stuff.

If this truck was being sold by a dealer and i didnt have a wedding to pay for in a year, I would go trade my truck in a heartbeat for it and have my wheels and tires put on it and not look back. Sure it has the 02 seats with the stone pattern that i HATE, but id have a LII that I love! I'd buy seat covers...lol

Also just so ya know, there is a Moderator on here that would sell you his Ranger (David N). It IS lifted and sonic blue, but its an auto and well taken care of. I have seen this truck in person and LOVE it. You could easily take the BL off and sell and trade the wheels and tires for alcoas and such to make it back factory.

I don't mind having the body lift left on, I would just like to know the truck was taken care of. I think that is my main thing. By the way, most dealers don't even know what a Level II is and most of the time as long as you don't act like you have been looking for one for ever, they will never know.

My truck gets the occasional off road beat down, But I take care of it...I sure didn't look for a Level2 to keep on the road all the time. Nice ones can be found...I really "REALLY" like that 2005 white one.

I am thinking that if the Ranger goes away I might get an 06 or 07 Level II. Fully loaded with manual tranny. Leather seats n' stuff. I would defiantly do a manual transfer case swap.

Do the 06+ Level IIs differ any from the 04-05 Level IIs drivetrain wise? Same 31-spline 8.8 with a Torsen T-2 right?

Sorry for thread jack.
