Tire selection for 14" rims
So I'm poking around looking at tires, I think after the new intercooler (looking at the Stinger unit, need to email them and get exact dimensions) I'm going to need new tires. The 215/70/R14s on the truck are pretty worn and hardly look up to the task.
Here is where I run into my problem, on the quest to create an awesome sleeper I have decided I'm going to stick with the stock 14" outlaws. 15" drag alloys or 17" bullitts will give this thing away. I know I'm limiting my options, but I'm looking for some fairly sticky all-season radials. So far I am leaning towards the BFG Radial T/A or the Firestone Indy.
Can I tuck 245/60/R14s under a 1990 2WD with stock suspension? Or would I be better off going with a 225/70/R14?
Oh, and I also work for Sears so I get a good discount on any tires we carry (as if sticking with 14s wasn't already cheap enough).
