Well, I really don't have anything, but I do have a few things in the works... Spindle+Bodylift, 38s, new wheels.
I DO have a few words of wisdom for you though.
1) There is a reason why Jared's Huge *** truck doesn't have any WAAG bar or anyhting... cause they don't do anything!!! Unless they are custom fabbed and hold a winch and skid plate.
2) Steel wheels rust unless they are completely powdercoated. Mine are rusting where the cheapo chrome lip is. And they are hard to clean because the face has "bolts" where they meet the rim.
3) I'm gonna order a Jusnes lightbar and tabs tomorrow. Then in a couple weeks...next paycheck, I'm gonna get a set of Amber Fog Hella 500s, and a set of clear Driving Hella 500s to go on it.
4) Long term plans are a Chevy spring swap, Moser axles, and a Eaton E-Locker... That's gonna give me some lift, take away some axle wrap and help bomb-proof my rearend.
Today, I got bored, so I started playing with my truck, taking the WAAG off and finishing my front plate removal mod. I think Thursday I'm gonna try my hand at the headlight mod.
Back to my story----> I aired down my tires all to 15psi, which I could've gone 10psi, but I didn't want to blow a bead, so I just went with 15. I got an idea, cause we have a pile of concrete rocks in our yard, I made a mini-Rubicon in my yard and started doin' some 2wd Crawling... it was so fun... Then I started rolling around "da hood" which has some dirt hills, ridges, and drains. I was driving the front tires up almost 90 degree angles with no problem and could take on any stump I could find.
All in all, airing down your tires will help alot. I want to get a set of beadlock wheels, now so I can run like 5-10psi without any problems. I may get a beadlock kit from www.rockstomper.com for my current wheels and get some crazy treaded tires to help grip.

I do offroad my 4x2. Pretty hard too -- and I get stuck more than most (but not all, lol) 4x4's. It's a supercab 3.0 Edge , 2002.
I have 3" spindle lift in front, with a pretty good torsion bar . I'm running 35" tires.
In the rear I have 4.5" blocks, a added leaf in my spring pack (extra leaf from another stock pack), a 1" shackle lift.
I'm running a 31 spline 8.8" axle from an FX4 with an ECTED electric locker. I have custom rock sliders, and a custom 1/8" thick stainless steel front skid plate. The shock mounts are modified to keep them from dragging, and to allow me to retain the stock length shocks for now.
I'm running Rancho RSX shocks all around.
My valance is removed, and I have a winch mount made by a friend with a Ramsey Rep 8.5 winch on it. I'm running a dual battery setup with disconnects.
I carry a full size spare on a mount in the bed, a high lift jack, straps, cable extensions, shackles, etc.
Look at my recent Wharton video postings for the truck in action. Also, I have some videos hosted here from earlier trips as well.
I am converting my truck to a 4x4 -- I already have the front axle. It's a solid axle from a 1979 F-150 -- a Dana 44.
I have yet to get a 4x4 tranny and transfer case, but I'm working on it.
I think that covers most of it.

quite a few of locked/lifted 2wd's are here. They do very well off-road.
n3elz (jon)has a truck to drool over (2wd on 35's with 4.56's and ected)
along with roach(andy) (2wd on 35's)
red fx2 (who btw is selling his truck) (brad) is lifted on 35's
daytonabchranger is lifted on 40's and he does very well offroad (theres a few pics if you search around, he's fishing in the st. jon river...with his truck!
theres way way way more people than that...i just don't know their names!!!
2wds do very well offroad...maybe someone will explain more, i'm pretty tired
edit: sorry guys, i posted after you and didn't even realize it!

There's no reason a RWD truck can't go offroad. You learn what the trucks capabilities are and yours. With experience those will increase. You'll learn what mods are actually useful and what ones are just for show.
3" spindle lift up front. Shackle and AAL in rear. Have been running 33" Cooper STTs. Powertrax No-slip locker in the rear. Custom front hitch and skid plate. 8000lb Warn portable winch (hitch mounted). Rock sliders. Rancho RSX shocks. Optima Red top. Bamachip X2.
Find a or a few good machinists/welders. When you want functional gear, these guys will help more than what's available in the aftermarket for our trucks. The step bars that come stock (on some) or from Westin or whoever else sells them will not hold up to abuse.
Idk if the truck in your avatar is the one you want to wheel or if it's a newer Ranger (Edge maybe) or what. But off the lot a RWD Edge is a decent start. It can already fit 31s easily (some will say 32 or 33). But get some decent M/Ts (you'll need the extra bite) and a winch is invalueable. A locker is a grreat help too if you have an open diff.

That sounds like a waste. not to b bashing or anything its just my opinon u can take it or throw it out. All im sayin is that if your gonna only lift 2 inches there is no point to pay that much for a suspension. u could get a 3 inch b/l for $100 and thats a extra inch of lift. if ur doin a suspension u should atleast go four inches and whats the point of 28s most rangers come stock with 31's ull have a lift and swampers and still b smaller than my truck idk seems like a waste of money to me just my $.02 dont b offended just think u should think it through more. if u wana lift save and get something nice.

I guess it all comes down to how hardcore you want to offroad, and as to what your definition of offroading is. Remember, offroading is anything "off road". So a lawn is offroad, as well as a mud hole......LOL
I take mine through the back roads and trails, and it handles golf course construction pretty well. Just a bi*ch in the deep dry sand and deep mud.....all I have is 31" A/T's and some gorund clearance. LOL

I would recommend a little more than 2" of list, also. Especially with those whacky-shaped fenders, you may be clawing them to death with those aggressive-treaded tires.
Here's a 4" kit from Skyjacker at Summit Racing
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=sja-134r2k
Here's a much Cheaper kit ($435) from Rough Country and it comes with shocks.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=sja-134r2k
And here's a page from Rocky Mountain Suspension showing pretty much all the kits available for your truck. http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/fd2_Rngr.htm
Remember that you could also body lift the truck to get some bigger tires. I do recommend, though, that you don't go any wider than a 12.50 for any reason. I would stick with a 10.50 tire because the Rangers don't wiegh very much.
When I get my Spindle/Bodylift on I'm gonna go with some 37x1250-15s for offroading for sure. Or maybe even 35x1050-15s so I couldn't possibly rub.

What kinda off-roading do you plan on doing? Different set-ups work better than others for different conditions. Do you want to go climb some hills along muddy trails barely wide enough for your truck? Do you want to climb some rocks? Or do you want to be able to go pretty darn fast out in the desert takin' whoops and stuff?
As for me, I currently run...
> Bent I-beams (gave me 5" of lift, but more importantly, more travel...)
> Camburg heim-joint radius arms and trany cross-member
> Bilsteins up front paired with eibach coils
> 31" x 10.5" BFG at's on 15" rims
> 3.73 gears
I'm not all hardcore (yet) like some people so I've only gotten stuck once.... in sand when my truck was STOCK. What little I've been through with my new stuff hasen't caused any problems at all. I haven't spun my bfg's off-road once... they stayed locked to the ground.
My whole rear end (suspension) is still stock btw...

i dont plan on going hardcore offroading with this truck, but i want just enough to have some fun with the locals on the trails. the 4x4 in the gen 2 ranger was never near 31" mine is a 2wd 1991 it came stck with 24" tires. 28" ss tsl sould be enough to go on trails and do some small mud holes........
...the last two trucks i went offroading with were a plymouth style bronco 4x4 that was stock with 28s and a stock 92 f150 2wd and i never had a big problem with them around here.
i dont want to lift it a ton because its my school and work truck and i dont want it to be really high.......if it was up to me and my wallet......4" lift and 35s....but that is not possible
