under hood sound detonating cover/fabric?

A couple of years ago the company that did my tranny flush got fluid all over the fan/belts, when they started it up it threw it all over the hood and other places.

well that fabric or sound detonating stuff on the bottom side of the hood socked alot of it up, i tried to wash it off, bad move as once i added water the tranny fluid literally ate away at the fabric.

anyway, someone know the part number and price of this ?

thanks!

here is a picture of what it looks like.

I agree i'd try for another type of cover, like the dynomat, from what i've heard they are better than the stock covers. Do you really even need one?

yea you need one.......the heat that the engine puts off + the heat of the sun could warp the metal in the hood....espically in the 100*+ weather...

So is warping the main concern? Just curious, never really knew why they were there. I thought it might be better to help get some of that heat away from the engine. I just know neither of my Gen II's have one

When they replaced my hood from the accident they had a redesign and it was the smaller version. I am sure that you saw it on ine zach. Maybe its different for the fiberglass hoods.

yea, your hood isn't going to warp......the engine puts off alot of heat, but not that much. Alot of older cars didn't have one, and nothing ever happened to the hood. All it does is deaden sound.
