Hunter Bull Bar

Not sure if this is in the right forum, but here goes....

Does anyone have one of these and will it fit bigger than a 4.5" set of lights like the destcription says? Say maybe a 6" set of Daylighters? The picture of the one on the ranger looks like there is room. Just wondered if anyone has this bar and has measured for lights...

I'd sure like to pick one of those up, but with lights, you really lose any access to front tow hooks, dont cha?

I guess you have to take the towhooks off according to the website.

I think WowMike has the same one but obviously on a ranger. He's running 8" KC's on it....new light brackets need fabricated. BUT...i think it's safe to say that 6" lamps will fit no problem. And you'd be able to keep full adjustment of the lamps as well.

Looks good. Huge fan of the daylighters. Should have gone black casing to match the bull bar, but hey, thats my opinion.

Why do you have to remove the tow hooks? Is that where the mounting brackets go for the bar? What was your overall impression of the installation and the product? Just curious, cause I'm interested in one too. I like yours btw. Looks good.

To answer your questions:
- My truck didn't have tow hooks so I'm not sure where they even go, but I'm assuming that they interfere with the mounting brackets that adhere to your frame. (All I know is that their website says they must be removed)

- Mounting/installation was piece of cake- I did it by myself in about the same time as the guy in the youtube video I posted below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T41Z5NJAv0

- Quality? Eh- It's good for knocking back brush and saplings that you will run over out on the trail. I wouldn't count on it standing up to a boulder or even using it to push another car around. It's basically a "brushguard" called a bull bar. For $169, it looks great, installs easy and will knock back any vegetation in your way. And the 6" lights mounted right onto it.

- I'd say, if you're going for that look and want a cool light bar for the front , then do it. I'm totally pleased with mine.
If you want a heavy duty bar thats going to bounce you off a granite boulder you better head to the Fab shop and just have one welded on :)

Hope this answers your questions

I had a Westin Bull Bar on my truck. I had put PIAA's on the light tabs which completely made my tow hooks up front useless. Hence I got rid of the Bar and got a Brushguard.

I guess if the tow hooks are bolted to the side of the frame, then that would interfere with the installation. However, if the bull bar utlizes the same holes as the tow hooks, I would think you could install both. there seemed to be enough play in the set-up of the bull bar to make it work.- Just my opinion..... Don't know if the bar interferes with the hooks.

Looks good, just posted on your other thread. Any plans for blacked headlights? I'd probably paint the grille inserts black too

Love my blacked lights! I'd get rid of my all amber corners in favor for the newer style like you have and paint the inside black like the headlights (instead of niteshade)
