Muffler Preferences?!?!

Muffler Preferences?!?!
What brand and type of mufflers do you all prefer on your trux? I want to make a unique sound on mine... and I'm sick of EVERYONE having the typical flowmaster sound. I want something that will sound a constant LOW tone and get loud but not sound like a ricer... I want it to sound more like a well tuned PERFORMANCE vehicle than an offroading truck or a honda. I want it to sound smooth, similar to a bit louder version of a 350Z.
I also posted this in the 6 banger section because I don't know what motor size my new truck will be yet.
Thanx.

Piping Sizes
If I'm thinkin' correctly,... the size of the piping after the muffler matters as well, along with the tips you put on at the end. I know that we have 2.25 piping goin' into the muffler, but what about after? Can I varry the size of the piping coming out of the muffler to deepen the tone?
Lets juss say in an extreme case for example that someone wants to run a rice muffler but not at the end of the exhaust, but rather under the chassis like a flowie or a gibson would sit. 2.25" inlet; 4" out. Could they then extend the humongoid 4" tip in the way that the regular "after piping" would be on a flowie, to get a really low tone? Since you'd have HUGE piping :D would that make for a low tone? I've heard alot of people that piping diameter makes a huge difference in sound. Juss curious.
Thx,

Big pipe may get a lower tone, but it will also kill the air flow. You don't want to stagnate the exhaust gas in the pipe. I think 2.25 is about as big as you want to get for a 4 banger, or even the 3.0.
Best bet is to add a flare at the end and create a trumpet effect. Tuned right, and you can get a good sound out of it. Bolting on the wrong tip just makes a fart cannon. A good muffler shop can help.

ive got a Flowmaster 40 single inlet/dual outlet 2 1/2" piping before the muffler and 2 1/4" after into 18" by 3 1/2" tips. beautiful sound before the y-pipe was redone and now its even greater afterwards. you can hear me start my truck but then it goes to an absolutely beautiful idle and (with my 5-speed manual) this baby roars when i get on it. o i love my flows.
