Is Amsoil really worth it

I'm changing to synthetic on my 95k + 4.0 L supercab xlt. should I get amsoil or mobil 1, or what? what is everybody else putting it. I know this isn;t a ferrari or anything but don't mind putting good oil in the truck

I've always heard AMSoil is a great syn. or Purple Royal. i don't think you can really go wrong, it all comes from the same vat IMO.

I run AmsOil in everything I have and it's worked great for me. I don't get oil tested ever so I don't have my own proof that it works, but I'll leave that to other people. Personally I just like not having to do changes ever 3k. 15k is much nicer. Haha...

I use Mobil 1 in everything I drive, or have driven.

My dad and I have torn down motors that have been on full syn since they were built and it was amazing the difference.

AMSOIL is absolute best, but not cheap + shipping.

I sell it and refund shipping on sales above $100.00 per order upon request (not company policy but I did not like paying the shipping before I became dealer so I eat the shipping).

I'm upgrading website with my sponsor this month.

I have a case in the garage I got for free in a contest, I doubt I would ever pay for it though. Motorcraft has worked fine for me the last 70k miles.

I tell people that a good full synthetic turns off "the wear switch" in an engine.

I'm on the fence. I've never used full synthetic in my trucks but I've always used Mobil 1 in my imports. Never had a problem with either. Ran three 4.0 Rangers to 250,000 miles on conventional oil...torn apart all three...clean as a whistle. If you ask me, it's more about the quality of the oil and its detergency than whether or not it's synthetic or conventional. That's just me, please don't flame me.

# Measurably better low and high temperature viscosity performance
# Better chemical & shear stability
# Decreased evaporative loss
# Resistance to oxidation, thermal breakdown and oil sludge problems
# Extended drain intervals with the environmental benefit of less oil waste.
# Improved fuel economy in certain engine configurations.
# Better lubrication on cold starts

Trent, it's better off in your garage than your crankcase! Samsoil is only a blender and packager, and a pyramid marketing company. This is why they charge an outrageous price for it. Not only it's more expensive, but only a couple of the oils are API certified, a requirement of all US vehicle manufacturers for their warranty to stay valid. They also claim extended oil change intervals, but a tech at Blackstone Labs told me UOA would not detect sludging. Speaking of sludging, VW (and Audi) have their own oil tests for sludge, and Scamsoil isn't included in the list of oils that pass:

If that was true, all of it would be API certified. Scamsoil has a lot of products that aren't API certified. However, you are
correct, there are only a few sources of the base oil stock.

so how about Motorcraft oil? It's designed by Ford. But it is a blend though right? Plus it is a alot cheaper. I dunno about leaving oil in a vehicle for over 3k miles no matter what kind of oil is in there. I was going to go with extended performance Mobil 1 so I wouldn't have to change the oil as much but now I'm think I want to strictly put Ford products on this Ranger. What do you guys think about Motorcraft Synthetic blend?

That really means nothing. EOLCS is a voluntary licensing and certification. Companies have to apply and pay to get certified. Amsoil just doesn't buy in to it.
