new guy with a couple electrical problems and maybe a mechanical issue and a couple

Hey all , I am new here and hoping for some sage advice .

I have a couple of issues , first off, what is a GOOD shop manual , I have the haynes manual but it doesn't seem to address my issues .

Problem 1, just picked up a '93 2wdV6 XLT and there is no radio so there are wires hanging and I dont have dash lights . The radio should be a non-issue, but the manual doesn't show what color the wire is to the dash lights.

Problem 2 , the $wd will not engage on a '93 . The manual suggests a possible blown fuse , wire,or mechanical issue . ny quick and dirty tricks? Is this a common issue?

Lame question 1 , Will 15" rims fit on a 2wd model with stock suspension that came with 14" wheels?

Lame question 2 , will a 5 speed manual trans from the larger V6 fit behind the smaller V6? and what size engine are these in a '93-4 model? The manual says 3.0 and 4.0 but I have been told different?

TIA for any and all help with this -BONZO

v6 motors are either a 3.0 or a 4.0
15" will work fine
go through all of your fuses before trying anything else!

I got 15" on my truck. I hate the look of others with 14"'s.

Thanks for affirmation . I am on the fence about switcvhing to 15's , on one hand I already have 14" alloy rims, and the lower bed height will come in handy since I intend to use this as a motorcycle hauler . On the other hand they look wrong, the only real difference between the 2 and 4 wd is the wheels(I think) and they make a huge difference in appearance .

Also , I checked fuses today , no luck with the 4WD engagement , I will have to dig deeper . The 2WD had a blown fuse to the dash lights , replaced and it blew again , still have wires hanging where radio was removed , gonna insulate the ends till I get a radio installed but still no luck with dash light wire color??

Thanks again -BONZO
