Dissimilar caliper pins (2003 ranger)

The two front brake caliper pins on my 2003 Ranger XL are not identical to each other. One has a smaller diameter mid-shank with a rubber sheath around it.

This is the first brake-job on this truck. From the factory, the RH side had the "sheathed" pin on the lower position, the LH side had it installed in the upper position. Does it matter which position the two different styles of pins are installed? I have done several brake jobs and have never seen different style caliper pins on the same caliper like this.

Much obligied,
Jason
