it replaces the engine driven fan on the engine with a electric driven fan. it pulls or pushes air through the radiator to cool the antifreeze that keeps the engine cool.....it is temp controlled and will kick on and off so it isn't on all the time.....it will help reduce wear on the water pump, increase horsepower, increase fuel milage, and increase the air conditioning performance.
if you have any more questions ask....that is what we are all here for is to learn...

I have one from Jusnes Modified. After killing two of the stock clutch fans offroading too much, I switched over to an efan. I noticed a slight power and mpg gain, but mainly I love it becuase it replaced my broken clutch fan. Its great because I no longer have the sound of an airplane taxying down a runway every time I start up the truck.
Install is easy, only took me about 2 hours to do everything... if the radiator were a bit cooler it may have taken less time.

I ended up taking off my e-fan. I enjoyed all the benefits already mentioned, but my tranny ran considerably hotter from the day I installed the fan. I tried several things including new/bigger cooler, and an aux fan on the cooler. While the bigger cooler and fan helped SOME, it still didn't keep the tranny at an acceptable range...ESPECIALLY when towing. I put the stock clutch fan back on, and haven't had a problem with tranny temp since.

my tranny stays at a good temp...it runs around 150*...when it starts to climb during high rpm driving, i just kick on the a/c compressor and let the fan come on...that drops the tranny temp back down to about 150*....that is considerable lower than stock.....i am going to add a second cooler and a remote tranny oil filter...

Actually I was going to remove the 1 cooler thats there now & build a mounting base(2 straight pieces of flat iron) all the way across & mount the coolers @ an angle. Thats just my thoughts @ this point but I'll know more once I have both coolers in hand. If it can be done I'll figure out a way. I may have to remove that piece of plastic under the radiator. I sure hope thats not Fords idea of a front skid plate.
