Multifunction Switch a DIY job?

definately...remove the 3 screws on the bottom steering wheel trim, remove the bezel around the ignition lock cylinder, remove tilt wheel lever if equipped, remove the upper and loser covers, remove the torx bolts on the switch, unplug the connector...now read these backwards and then you are done

yeah...it's that goofy *** bent handle on the left of the steering column. Mines nicer since it's not bent and uncomfortable! lol.

WW permanently ON after replacing switch
So, it was more of a wrestling match than I'd anticipated getting the top shroud off the steering column which I thought was necessary but apparently was not.
Installed the new switch, checked the turn signals & hazards, all was well.
This morning, turned on the windshield wipers to clear frost... and that's it, they took half a second to start (unusual) and so I'd cranked them up to top speed, and once they got there they wouldn't stop. The sorcerer's apprentice, windshield-wiper version.
Is this a faulty switch or did I some how tweak the connecters in some unhappy way when prying them off the old switch?
I was so happy at completing this repair by myself (first one), albeit with a couple of borrowed tools. Not so happy today.
Help?

It may be faulty but another cause would be an incorrect resistor for the wipers. Ford uses the same MFS on a lot of cars and trucks but with a different resistor.
It's not hard to swap out just have to disassemble the stalk and swap the disc and wiring over ( have to desolder the connectors) then reinstall.
I have done a few swapping town car MFS into Rangers
