New Muffler
Ok, before you say it i tried a search and couldn't come up with a consistent answer to my question. I am looking to buy just a muffler for my v6 4.0 99 supercab xlt. What kind of muffler will give it a good sound, but not too loud. I was looking at a glasspack but in the searches one person will say it sounds ricey and another says it has a deep mellow tone. Is a Gibson a good choice? Cost isn't really an issue, i was also looking at a dynomax, does anyone have just the muffler and know what it sounds like? The headers, and all the pipes will be still be stock.

Flowmasters usually sound pretty good too.
My local garage/muffler shop had a Flo-Pro brand (I think that's what it was called) which is basically the same as a Flowmaster at half the cost. Sounds great, low rumble @ idle & a little throaty while in the throttle.... kinda like a V8 Mustang, not ricey at all.
Mine is a cat-back with dual outlet muffler out the back, 2 1/2" pipe & 4" chrome tips. My tips actually made the sound a little deeper.
One of these days, I'm gonna make some sound clips....
