Ranger Steering Box

Why does no one use a ranger steering box? is the yoda one stronger?

if you are thinking the older boxes wont work they mount on the inside of the frame there is no room in there.

Right. I like the old Ford 78-79 boxes, but they're too hard to come by in good shape and expensive to rebuild. I've got two of them and consider myself lucky. They can be had, but they're not plentiful enough to suit me.

The Yota box isn't as strong -- but if you put a ram on steering box strength matters less.

to all the funny ones at the top i'm not stupid

and Badkarma has an isuzu box INSIDE the frame.. dont believe me ask him.

last time i brought it up yall waved the BS flag.. guess who's actually seen his truck..

the pictures i saw his isuzu box was on the outside of the frame! must have changed it

yea before i left he said he used it to keep it inside and keep it out of the way of the tires and w/e

over christmas i just had to see to confirm lol
anyone know if an E250 is inside or outside?

I agree with John.....the F-150 box is a very strong box...if you can find one in good shape, it is worth using in your SAS....

well i have a feeling the 250 box will be stronger.. if it works it'll save me a ton of money

I found this on Explorer Forum:

This is an FJ-60 steering box. The guy said his stock steering lines bolted in without modification. He also says you can use an Aerostar steering shaft to go between the wheel and the steering box. This box looks pretty beefy like the F-150 boxes.

dang! i really wish i would have thought of this type of stuff when i saw the truck and took pics. I think he told me it's all cherokee up there....cherokee box as well...but no clue.
