Rock Lights

Rock Lights
Im thinkin about getting a set of cheap no name brand 55 watt lights and making them into rock lights. I have my current 130 watt lights wired to the positive side of the fuse box under the hood. With the rock lights Im wondering if I wired them to the fuse box would that overload it when I have all my lights burning? If so how would I go about running another circuit?
Would a 30amp relay be enough? I know that the lights will come with a wiring harness but I also thinkin of upgrading to bigger wire also.

Still alittle more than i wanted to spend on this mod.
Found this old thread...

I think the easiest way is to run them the same as my current offroad lights before the fuse box under the hood and run a good in-line fuse.

how many are you planning on running?
my front 2 are on the fog light circuit, then the 3 on the driver side are on their own switch/fuse/relay, then same for the passenger side.
HA
you buy 'em, I'll put them on. i have 100 in lights. and about 50 in wire, connectors, relays and switches.
more like 4", flood lights.
no, get the little round ones.. 9.99 each.
they wont break as easily from rocks or w/e you throw at them, i think the rectangle ones are a thinner glass.
for sure get the ones from walmart, i have 2 from advance, 14.99 each, and one from checkers for 12.99.. andddd the walmart ones are brighter
I'm gonna pick up one from harbor freight and see if the cheaper they get the brighter i get, but i doubt it.
as of now, the back 2 are taken off and need to be relocated.

get these then you dont have to worry how much they draw cuz they're led :) kinda pricey but for the size and ease of mounting i think they're worth it.

I want to run 4,one for each wheel well. After reading your PM I thinkin of some 35w cause I want to be able to run my current 130w and the rock lights at the same time without overloading my alt.

^^thats not a bad deal
Im just worried about the magnet and how well it would hold being thrashed around
EDIT: found that you can mount them with a self tapping screw....

Them seem to be tough and dont draw much power....thanks for posting Carl.
