What IS this mess!?!
What a mess! My mom is gonna kill me... Haha!
Anyways, just a little update on the EATC so far... I've got it all wired up for the bench test, just gotta go get myself a car battery and turn it all on! I was hungry though so I stopped for a break and a corn dog! Wish me luck! *crosses fingers*

i wish i had the money right now to get the rest of the stuff i need! keep the pics and updates coming!
lol, i have the same kitchen table out in my garage as a work bench. it was my sisters.. she moved home for a summer, moved all of her furnitiure into our garage, so i claimed that table as my own. it sort of looks the same.. except now it has a few burn marks, some solder splashes, scratches here and there, and a little bit of adhesive on it.. nothing a little pledge can't get rid of, lol. (yeah im gonna die when it comes time for her to move back out.. oh well, till then, i have a nice table to work at)

john griggs has a huge write up in his cardomain thing, that covers everything. along with the headunit, there's a few sensorss you'll need, an actuator, and some hosing. from there, it's all following directions and running all of your new stuff throughout the truck. lol.. so far, all i have is the headunit itself.. haven't begun searching for sensors and whatnot.

It's a pretty intense project as far as wiring and such. It's also very nerve wracking to test everything out to see if it works. I think it will be very much worth it though!
And John I took your idea and bundled the wires! It helped alot!
And Evan I've said this probably a dozen times by now in different places, but I paid $192 total for all the parts for the EATC and OHC, including a $67 blend door actuator new from the ford dealer. Then add in the cost of little things like relays, wire, connectors, etc. I still need to find some freaking bilge hose too.

Many, if not MOST of the people, aren't even from Ranger-Forums or have even heard of it. They contact me by email mostly. One actually looked up my phone number and called me on the phone, lol!
It's nice to be the first (as far as I can tell anyway, I'm the first to retrofit a Ranger) to do something.
And no problem. I'll get back to you on most things anyone might contact me about, though sometimes you have to remind me. I'm very busy and if my energy vs. busy-ness ratio is too low, I may not take the time to answer right away, lol.

Here is one more mess for y'all before I cleaned everything up! This one is the bench test (or rather the kitchen table test) to check the fan speed controller and allow the EATC to run a self-diagnostic for all the other sensors. The turn signal lighting up means things are the way they need to be!

Go to my CarDomain site (link in my signature) and look at page 14 to 19. Those are the pages that describe the mod, the parts you need and variations on them, how to wire it for your year truck, how to test it before you install it, etc.
I worked pretty hard on that how-to and it's my most detailed one -- but it needs to be.
I once had someone email me and ask me to "simplify" the installation because it was too "complex" and there must be a simpler way. Their tone was kind of ugly, like I was messing with them or something, lol. Anyway, I told them it's not possible to simplify the how-to because there are too many variations of Explorer's and Ranger's and it depends on the donor parts you get, etc.
I never heard back from them, lol.
As far as I can tell from the internet and searching back when I did it, I'm the first person to transplant it into a Ranger.
