99 4.0 overheating. Fixed a leak and now...
Ok so I am in a bind as I just fixed the truck and now it is overheating.
4.0 99 ford ranger 150k
It was leaking at the thermostat gasket.
I just took it off, cleaned, sealed with RVT sealer let sit 20 hours, filled with fluid and bam overheating.
Top hose has no fluid in it. I am guessing thermostat is stuck closed. I am not sure though.
I am picking up a new thermo right now, but I have to fix this tonight.
any suggestions would be great
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the posts on V6~4.0L~SOHC engines & TStat housings; good reference info.
Replaced the old leaking FRPlastic TStat Housing with a new Aluminum TStat Housing
in 2019Aug on a 2001 Ford ExSportTrac; no leaks as of 2020Mar after ~5K more miles.
