Wiring Diagrams

Im have an oil gauge acting up,took it to the local ford dealer, who could not get it to act up, they did check the oil pressure and found it to be as it should be, ( 60 pounds )they advised me that it was probably a bad connection some where, maybe on the back of the gauge, but they did not look. I purchased a Haynes manuel but it does not even show any thing about the oil sender, gauge or interconnection wiring, does any one have a wiring diagram that shows the wiring for a 2002 Ford Ranger that realty shows all the wiring. some things got left out of the Haynes Manuel

If you have good pressure but erratic oil gauge readings, the odds are that your oil pressure sending switch is the problem. It is located in the block behind the PS cylinder head on the 3.0L and on the DS of the block toward the front on a 4.0L. The color code of its single wire is Dark Green/White and it is that color all the way to the cluster.

The oil sending unit or senser has been changed out, the car lot that I got the truck from changed it out, still had problem, took it to local ford dealer, they didn't think that it had been change , so they changed it out, and checked the actual pressure, had good pressure said it had to be a loose connection somewhere.so that is why I looking for a wiring diagram.

The wire path is slightly different depending on which engine you have:

c220a - 16-pin back of instrument cluster

c146 - large bulkhead connector near p-brake pedal

c110 - 42-pin connector near DS valve cover (3.0L only)

C139 - 8-pin below master cylinder (2.3L, 4.0L only)

C103 - at sending switch

Color code - Dark Green w/White stripe.

That is the whole thing. It's just one wire from the oil pressure switch to the oil pressure gauge, as shown.
