Just wanted to check interest for those of you who'd like modded Fog Light switches with LED's.

My old process required the LED's/wires to be permanently soldered to the contacts, BUT my new process allows me to use the OEM bulb holder.

I just shipped a couple to Police Interceptor & he seems pretty happy with his.

I have a few OEM Fog Switch bulb holders that I can mod to hold a RED, YELLOW, WHITE, BLUE or GREEN LED.

NOTE: All the colors EXCEPT Yellow look awesome. The yellow LED's don't seem to have as much output as the others, even though they have the same mcd rating. The yellow looks ok at night, but it's hardly visible in the daytime.

In most cases, there is only a slight modification needed to the fog switch bracket behind the bezel. Sometimes, a little of the locating tracks of the bracket need to be trimmed for clearance of the wires. Nothing major, a wood chisel, small wire cutters, etc. can be used to trim the plastic.

No need to make a permanent mod to your fog switch, you can even change the bulb holder if you get tired of the color. These will work just like the OEM bulb holders/bulbs... half turn to install or remove.

My mods to the bulb holder ARE permanent, I solder the connections in place to keep them from coming apart.

I didn't get good pics of the modded bulb holders I just shipped, but I hope to have a couple more modded this week.

I may use the inverted cone LED shown OR I may use a regular rounded LED, it depends on what I have in stock at the time.

The OEM bulb holder will work just as normal, 1/2 twist to install or remove. There WILL be at least 1 wire coming out the back of the switch, but there's plenty of room behind the headlight or 4x4 switch.

Every modded bulb holder will be tested with my extra switches.

Do you have any of the fog light switch - bulb holders now?? I'd like to buy a pre-modded one in blue if possible. I'd like to see a picture of how you mod it too just to see how it'll fit. I know it's a tight fit in that switch as far as space is concerned..

The wiring for my fog light switch is internal to the switch, I used the stock circuitry.

I have a couple BLUE modded Fog Light Switch bulb holders completed...

One is SOLD.

Still have a few ready to mod with LEDs... Blue, Red, White, Green.

 

ALSO NOTE:

My OLD fog switch mod WAS permanent.
My NEW fog switch mod IS simple & easy to install or remove at any time.

It will take longer to remove your bezel & the mounting bracket than it does to switch bulb holders.... should take a novice about 15 minutes (10 minutes of that to find your tools)

 

From doing some reading on here is there two bulbs in the foglight switch? One for the icon and one for the little dash mark above it?? One being internal and not screwed in??

Yes,
There's a green LED that indicates when the switch is turned on, that'll stay the same.

My LED mod is for the "dash lights" indicator... when you turn the headlight switch to parking lamps or headlights, the light for the little fog light emblem on the switch will light up -in your case blue-.
For the 1/2 twist in bulb holders.

I've seen the little "ON" indicator modded with a LED, but it requires dis-assembly of the switch, kind of a "pain in the butt" mod.
If you want, I'll send along another blue LED & resistor (or whatever color you want) if you want mod the "ON" indicator.

 

Working on a couple more fog switch bulb holders in BLUE, but I don't want to mod all my extras in just one color.

I'm sure somebody wants to be different with a GREEN or RED fog switch.

 

Only have a couple fog switch bulb holders left to mod.

When these are gone, you'll need to send your old ones in for me to mod unless I run across some more.

 

Looking for Head Light Sw, Fog Sw and Maybe Cruise Control Sw’s, all in bright RED LEDs, they need to be as bright as the pic in the above post.

TO EVERYBODY HERE: These are good parts he's sellin here. All work flawlessly. I didn't even have to trim my foglight mounting bracket for the new improved LED bulb holder.. Just be careful and watch the wires and socket when pushing the switch back into the mounting bracket..
