i have a '99 ranger and i would like to upgrade to the new style ranger taillights. let me know what you have. i guess i would need the wiring harness too?

 

You can use pretty much any tail lights on your truck, but you'll be in the same boat as me with your 3 bulbs... I'm running 01 tails that I modded; I made a 2nd hole below the brake light bulb socket for the bulb socket for my turn signal bulb. There's more than enough room in the 01 housing for 2 bulbs, just make sure to space them out so the bulbs don't touch.

If you decide to go with re-wiring everything, I've got an OEM wiring harness for 01 2 bulb tail lights that I didn't use for my truck. It should make things much easier than trying to splice things together... unplug your 99 wiring & plug in the 01 wiring & you should be setup for 2 bulb tails.
