You will be #1 with the oznium strips. It will be better than mine, but you should paint it too.

as you can tell, the red needles don't show up too well. I still have to replace those... just haven't really felt like it yet.

Note to self:

Put a breaker switch in the Evo so when I get pulled over racing a Z06 I can try this trick.

wow, i didn't think that would actually work haha. i can see the needles alright in the dark, sometimes its a pain though. i have to debate what color needles i want, probably have to be blue though. since red doesnt work and everything else would probably show up blue anyways

JP, you said when you ordered they had to do something to them to make them work, do you know what they did?

It was only a campus cop, but still it worked. He didn't believe me at first, then I further explained my electrical problems to him. He clocked me at 26 which is 5 mph over.. lol

LOL you guys are so lazy...

I called Rusty today just for S&G, he said "nobody has called looking for GM needles for a ranger that I can remember"

I asked him, and it is the 2003-2006 GM ones.

With the inside he has a special tool to open them up some so they fit the ranger. You guys have to make it PERFECTLY clear that when your order the 2003-2006 GM needles that they are for a 2004 or newer ford ranger and the inner where the shaft goes needs to be opened up by Rusty.

The reason why the stock needles suck with blue lights is because they are actually really orange. The plastic is transparent orange, and what color is the opposite of orange? Blue!.

The usspeedo.com needles are all clear with a certain paint on them. My blue needles came as clear needles with bright blue paint on the bottom of the needle (so you can see it during the day) and because they are clear plastic you can see them at night when I turn the lights on. Remember that the hats of the needle will be silver, I just painted mine to match the body.

So the stock needles don't show up well with blue since they are orange? What about the stock needles with RED led's? Do you still need to replace the needles? I don't like the idea of having to remove my needles and hope that I get them back on correctly.

You are too worried. Watch my videos and you will have no problems.

Red LEDs will work fantastic with the stock needles.

Buy the LED oznium adhesive backed ribbon strips in red, don't buy the component LEDs.

I did NOT swap clusters. I simply used 'parts' from an 05 cluster inorder to 'modify' my cluster so that I have level 2 gauges.

I repeat, 04 gauges ARE NOT swappable as the mileage will be off,. Milage is stored BY THE ODOMETER. Having a dealership do it, will ensure that the 'mileage on odometer is not accurate' check box being checked on your title.

However, 04+ gauges DO have interchangeable parts.
no offense but i just finished this, still have some minor touches, like my speedometer needle but my truck starts and runs fine. i used an 04 cluster i ordered from ebay, i wanted black faces on my guages. my dad(he's a parts manager at the ford stealership) said some vehicles have the anti-theft where it wont start, but it will start if you replace it with your old cluster, but aparently not my ranger.
