Unless you're building a strictly offroad vehicle like zabeard or a prerunner rngprerunner (his interior below) there is no point of a racing seat lol but here you go

to use harnesses, you need a harness bar though. only real safe way to use them.

it doesnt look like it would be too hard to fab one up and mount it but what do they do just keep the tenstion on the harness acting like a limiter?

they keep the harness at the right angle. if you have it mounted to the floor, if you were to get in a wreck, or roll, the pressure would be pulling down on you. causing compression injuries.

edit: OP, do you have a supercab, or extended cab? ooooor a single cab? lol

yeah a ranger has so much power and speed that you need a racing harness. they're uncomfortable as hell. My friend has a set in his car and hes finally selling them thank god.

it gets old having a harness, plus like "Lol Wut" said, unless you have an offroad rig, or prerunner, don't do it.

The seat tracks on your seat(s) will unbolt from the OEM Seat Pans, that should allow you some leeway to mount the new seats.
Some rectangular tubing and you have new seats...
