I can imagine that having one of those PA speakers would be fun as hell. I might have to invest in one eventually.

I never had to tune mine. I don't really know the range either. I live in a small town in the mountains so I have no idea what kinda range I get.

Alt. CB mount point..?...

On my Splash I mounted the CB below the dash under the ashtray. Looked obvious, was kinda cramped & too close to the stick.

On this one, since I don't smoke or need the ashtray, I decided to mount it where the ashtray was. I got another complete ashtray assembly @ salvage. I removed the ash basin & used a dremel tool to cut out the concave section where the lighter went. Discarded that and replaced w/ a double accessory port below the dash. I then mounted my small CB into the ashtray slide assembly & cut a rectangular hole w/ the Dremel in the face of the ashtray door for the CB to slip through. Still uses the speaker in the CB unit (which can be heard since it fires down below the dash, and the Mic mounts to the side on the face of the ashtray door.

My mod had a slight gap (too agressive on the hole in the ashtray door), but blends in and I don't mash my knee into it. Only drawback is I mounted the Mic on the right of the CB, and the cord gets tangled w/ the shifters from time to time. (I know, Shoulda mounted mic on Left....duh!) Anyway...I'll try to snap a pic & post. Just an alternate thought... HTH someone
