40/40 Bucket Conversion + Expo Console install
Finally got around to installing the expo console but first had to do the 40/40 conversion!
Begining
Grinding the old console off:
Some-what finished bucket (I did more grinding in the morning)
When I just bought the console.
Almost finished paint it. Yes I know I sprayed over the cig lighter but thats what I wanted to do lol
Now for the install..
Setting the mount up:
Console bolted in:
Finished product
Both installs were pretty easy just takes awhile if your careful and want things to be done right. Im pretty happy how it came out. And yes I do drive a mazda truck lol

Man im not gunna lie. I had so much trouble finding a console in good condition! Seems like no one treats anything how it should be. But I cleaned it, primed it, and coated it alot. Its holding up well. But I know white is hard to keep clean so I might switch to a different paint. I used krylon

Here’s one for the future… if the Driver’s Seat pulls apart or you just don’t like the look of the mod’d seat.
Go to the JY and find a Passenger’s Side Seat the same color as your seats (or even two Passenger Seats any color you want).
Remove the Sliders from under your existing driver’s seat and put it on the JY passenger seat and you have another Driver’s side bucket seat without the cutting of the frame on the 60/40 setup.
A lot easier than you will think… remove the seat back first, then the track from the bottom of the seat in that order and then put together in reverse, it makes it a lot easier.
I have done this so I know it work and again no cutting, no welding, just bolting.

Console and buckets look good.

Looks good. and good idea with cutting the old console off. I wonder if that would work with the 04+ seats cause I can never find 40/40 seats that are my style. Also would a factory 40/40 seat cover fit on the homebrew 40 seat
Im more interested on the Caddy in the background with the 4 subs on the trunk.

What about the back recline lever? Wouldn't it be on the wrong side? Mines built into the side of the seat itself..

All the holes on one side are on the other so everything just goes out the opposite side; at least in my application that did.
The Bucket Seats I did the swap with were from an 02/03 Lvl II with Ext Cab Seat Brackets, my EDGE had a 60/40 Setup. i took out the 60% Driver’s Seat expecting to start the mod’g to mount the new Bucket and as I unbolted things I noticed the Seat Bracket wasn’t actually part of the 60/40 Frame… wow, then I noticed all of the extra holes in the seat pan and determined that both side were the same and that they would bolt directly in… saved a lot of time and work.
Your may be a little different check them out and see.

The Seat Belt bolt directly to the Slider Assy.
The Seat Pans that is directly under each seat and part of each seat are all the same.
