It's time to start thinking about our annual January/February meet on the ice.
in the past we've met on Round lake in Andover, MN. It was suggested that we meet on a lake more north of the cities, so we don't have to worry about the local "fuzz" getting involved.

If any one knows of a good Lake that can hold about 6-10 Rangers and isn't crowded and NOT too far north of the cities, let us know

Malydeen contacted me about a week ago and asked if the meet could be at the end of January, due to his not being able to meet up during february.

Last year and the previous years, the members who've attended were: machine, Int3rc3ptor, SniperX103, Ranger Guy15, HazzardJohn, AK Red Ranger, Hot Wheels, Malydeen and others

my suggestion is for saturday, January 30th or Saturday February 6th.
Suggestions for Lake choices?

 

Either of those days would be good, how far north are we talking for a lake?

**** Lake and Forest lake are very well patrolled. Basically for this meet you have to find a crappy lake that no one lives on. Linwood lake is about the only one I can think of, but I did get pulled over on my sled a few years back there.

I think Andy had some idea's on a lake we could go to.
we have 6 weeks to decide!

 

I would like to join in on a meet, but I think Janurary is a little too cold for me.

 

We need it cold. the meet is ON a Frozen lake. we don't want our trucks to fall thru! besides the Ice Rangers Meet is a Tradition.

 

talked to Malydeen on sunday, via facebook. he said the 23rd is the latest he could attend the ice meet. so, lets try for that saturday or the 16th.

any more suggestions for lakes? maybe meet on Lake Mille Lacs? make it an all day meet along with dinner somewhere?

 

Why not meet in August and just put some ice in your drink...seems logical to me.

Mille Lacs is pretty far up there, and I believe it is pretty well patrolled as well. We have to find some small lake that no one goes to.

 

Just an idea... do you know of a place (lake) closer to the cities?

 

Not really. I think we may have to go onto something like google maps and find one that way.

Yea we only got about 15,000 to choose from. Just bring up google maps and look at places North of the cities.

 

FYI Im bringing my auger and tip ups if Im going to be sitting on a frozen lake....

 

Yeah... no idea where to go. But I sure as hell won't be doing Donuts this year. Haha...

 

I say we just go to Round lake like we always do. the other years (2007,2008) we didn't have any cop troubles.

I'm fine with heading up to Round Lake again. We can just make sure to keep an eye on the shore line. They can't ticket us for just driving around on the lake.
